Copenhagen’s Ellis May stunned six months ago with her debut release ‘Old Love’. Now the producer / composer / singer is back with her second cut, ‘Surrender’, which takes its inspiration from the moment when May, real name Sophia Maj, first looked into the eyes of her new-born child. Built around swirling melodies, haunting reverb and the echoing sentiment ‘I surrender myself to love’, it feels both confident and completely unnerving. It’s a gloomy, moody, magical combination which puts May in a league of her own. Having completed a stint at Spot Festival earlier this year, things are looking increasingly exciting.
